From August 19th to 22nd, 2025, Zhao Shuhong, Deputy Mayor of Xuchang, led a delegation to Japan to attend the Henan Week of China Pavilion at the World Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan. During this event, Xuchang hosted its own dedicated "Xuchang Day" to promote cultural exchange and business cooperation. Cultural Treasures Stun at the Expo, City Promotion Captures Attention——During Henan Week, Xinghang Jun Kiln from Yuzhou City in Xuchang showcased their exquisite Jun porcelain works at the China Pavilion’s Cultural Heritage Exhibition area. The ceramic pieces, featuring magnificent kiln transformation artistry, captivated numerous overseas visitors, offering a window into the charm of China’s traditional culture. At the opening ceremony of Henan Week , Deputy Mayor Zhao Shuhong delivered a city promotion speech, vividly telling the story of Xuchang to international guests, which sparked widespread interest.

The "Xuchang Day" event, a key highlight, was a success, with openness and cooperation emerging as a shared consensus. To maximize the Expo platform for cooperation, on the afternoon of August 21st, Xuchang hosted the "Xuchang Day" themed event at the China Pavilion, attracting distinguished guests including Zhang Guangrong, Deputy Director of the China Pavilion at the Osaka Expo, Ping Ping, Director of the Henan Provincial Government News Office, Liu Bing, Vice Chairman of the Henan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Nagasaki Shingo, Minister of the Policy Planning Department of Mie Prefecture, Japan and Liu Yanjun, Director of Henan Compatriots Association in Japan. Over 70 attendees from Henan expatriates in Japan, as well as representatives from Chinese and Japanese business circles, gathered to strengthen friendships and discuss future cooperation. The event, hosted by Zheng Lu, Director of the Commercial Bureau of Xuchang, featured a detailed introduction by Vice Mayor Zhao Shuhong, emphasizing the city’s advantageous geographical location, strong industrial foundation, and rich resources. Zhao emphasized that Xuchang is in a golden period of opportunity, where development advantages are emerging, presenting enormous potential for cooperation and investment. Sun Yi, Secretary of Xuchang High-Tech Zone Party Committee, introduced the city’s investment prospects and the "One Circle One Valley" development strategy, extending invitations to Japanese enterprises.

"Head Fashion" Leads Trends, Pragmatic Cooperation Deepened——Another highlight of the event was the new product launch ceremony of Xuchang hair products in the Japanese market by Xuchang’s renowned company——Rebecca. The release featured a dynamic fashion show and a static exhibition of over 100 hair products that fused international trends with the preferences of Asian consumers, drawing great attention from the audience, many of whom took photos. The company’s representatives stated that this Expo marks the beginning of their expansion into Japan's high-net-worth market, with plans to prioritize mainstream online channels like Amazon Japan, Rakuten, and TK, and to start building a local offline sales network in 2026. This marks a significant step in expanding Xuchang’s distinctive industries into new markets.
