On April 22, the "Jinmengjucai·Domestic High-End Polyester CHDM Grand Launch" was officially held at CHINAPLAS 2026, taking place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Hongqiao) in Shanghai.

In early April, Xuchang Jinmengjucai Technology Co., Ltd. achieved a successful first-time startup of its 30,000-ton-per-year CHDM project. The first batch of products passed testing, showing a purity of 99.99%, surpassing the indicators of similar products from leading international companies. This marks the large-scale production of key raw materials for China's high-end polyester industry, breaking the long-standing foreign technological monopoly.
CHDM is a key monomer for producing high-end polyesters such as PETG and PCTG. These materials are widely used in applications requiring high transparency and high chemical resistance, such as medical device packaging and electronic screen protective films. Previously, the related technology and market were long monopolized by companies in the United States and South Korea, forcing domestic enterprises to import at high prices and leaving the industrial chain vulnerable to external control.
Jinmengjucai has invested 2 billion yuan to build a high-end polyester materials industrial base. The first phase of the project achieved production and operational efficiency in just nine months, setting a new record for the speed of chemical project construction.
This appearance at CHINAPLAS is not only a critical step for Jinmengjucai to leap from "local county-level production" to "nationwide recognition and global presence," but also a vivid microcosm of Xuchang's new materials industry stepping onto the world stage.
The exhibition area spans over 390,000 square meters, bringing together more than 5,000 high-quality exhibitors from 46 countries and regions. Global buyers braved the rain to attend the exhibition, creating bustling crowds and boundless business opportunities. Strolling through the halls, visitors could see innovative materials catering to traditional manufacturing and emerging sectors such as new energy, energy storage, low-altitude economy, humanoid robots, and high-end medical care, all exuding a strong sense of cutting-edge technology.
The Xuchang pavilion and its exhibition area were extremely popular. At the booth of Xuchang Jinmengjuncai Technology Co., Ltd., small jars containing CHDM-related materials became the "focal point" under the lenses of international buyers.
In recent years, Xiangcheng County has deeply tapped the potential of the coal-based chemical industry. By vigorously developing a green circular economy, it has successfully won two national titles: "National-Level Characteristic Industrial Cluster for Small and Medium Enterprises" and "National-Level Green Industrial Park." At present, Xiangcheng has formed a modern industrial pattern featuring the coordinated development of multiple industrial chains, including carbon-based new materials, silicon-based new materials, high-end polyester materials, and new energy.
"This production launch is just the starting point. We will accelerate the construction progress of upstream projects such as the 50,000-ton-per-year DMT and downstream projects such as the 50,000-ton-per-year PETG/PCTG for CHDM, achieving full integration of the entire industrial chain from basic chemical raw materials to high-end materials. At the same time, we will continue to strengthen innovation-led development, tackle key technologies, strive to become an industry benchmark, participate in the formulation of standard systems, and lead the high-quality development of the high-end new polyester materials industry," said Li Shihan, Chairman of Jinmengjuncai.
